Friction Fire! (Part 3 of the Holding Fire Series)

Posted by on Nov 7, 2014 in Blog, Herbal Medicine | 0 comments

Dear Friends, It is with much excitement to announce the third installment of the Holding Fire Series, designed to aid in the growth and competence of educators, community organizers and all holding space with fire.  This sacred element brings out our deepest passions, so why not do it from the good energy of our very own bodies? Enough buying our fire, let’s make it ourselves! Come join me at the Bancroft Youth Alternatives Community Garden across from the tennis courts on Bancroft, between Bonar and West in Berkeley.  We will be spending the first two hours (3-5) making bowdrill fire kits for B’Naiture (and more for whoever would like when we finish those), then we will spend the second two hours learning to use them! Come learn about making a fire with your own energy, one of the most satisfying practices I have found. We will gather in the garden Monday, November 10th 3-5 pm – Bowdrill kit making 5-7 pm – Learn to use them! Sliding scale suggested donation $20-60, $10-20 to take a kit home. See you Monday!...
